3 crane control methods to ensure safety

How do control equipment safely and limit risks during crane operation? This is thanks to the control devices installed for the crane. Each control type will meet the different requirements of the crane type and each job. So what kind of control method should you choose? Please refer to the article on "3 methods of crane control to ensure safety" below!

3 crane control methods to ensure safety

1. Direct crane control method

This is a common control method for small-capacity cranes using electric hoists or single-phase electric hoists, preferred for use in small-scale factories, workshops, and warehouses...
- Use direct control knob for crane and motor to control signal for hoist lifting and lowering. When buying a crane, based on factors such as lifting speed, and crane movement, choose the right type of control knob: 1-speed, 2-speed, 6 or 8 buttons.

2. Crane control method by inverter

The use of inverters for cranes is the most popular control method applied today because of its high reliability and wide speed regulation range. Companies operating in the field of concrete use a lot because of the need to use cranes to move heavy structures such as molds, piles, and power poles, ...
Advantages of this control method:
+ Helps the engine start simple, and run smoothly
+ Increases engine durability: Due to the smooth and gradual start, the engine's parts operate smoothly, making the engine last longer.
+ Energy saving.

3. Control method of a crane by resistor

- This method is often used for lifting motors that are wound motors working in hot, humid, and high-temperature environments such as metallurgical plants.
- The advantage of this method is to make the starting current and change the speed of the motor. Resistors are made of steel sheets with high resistivity or coils on porcelain bars, so they can withstand high temperatures and work in dusty environments.
However, this method also has a limitation that the resistors used for cranes operating with large motors must be coupled from many small resistors, resulting in bulky size, complicated wiring, and speed adjustment. level recoil is not as efficient as using an inverter.
