With that success, in 2000, Quang Trung Mechanical Engineering continued to encroach on new fields, that is, researching and manufacturing lifting equipment; standardization and localization of crane details and successful construction of crane equipment with loads from 5 tons to 50 tons. In 2004, Quang Trung Mechanical has successfully designed and manufactured a base shaft of 80 tons to serve the shipbuilding industry. Especially in 2008, Quang Trung Mechanical has successfully produced the biggest crane in Vietnam with a capacity of 1,200 tons to serve the largest capacity hydropower plants in Southeast Asia, Son La and Lai Chau.

Mr. Cuong said, in order to improve production efficiency, help workers to release labor, the Enterprise has spent millions of dollars to import the most advanced machinery and equipment from Germany, Japan ... Pointing at the glorious machine , occupying an area of ​​hundreds of square meters in front of us, Mr. Cuong said that just by putting the tank through, the machine would copy and automatically cut out a similar tank. The camera features both tomography and 3D shooting, which will copy every detail from the outside into the tank.

To the second factory, Mr. Cuong introduced the wave power generator with an investment of nearly VND 1 trillion. In order to build the operation line for this factory, hundreds of workers have been working hard for nearly 5 years. When asked which unit ordered this product, Mr. Cuong smiled and said, "This is a project I invested, just to satisfy my creative mind." The power plant operates according to the principle of the water wheel. When the ocean waves hit the fan blades, it causes the reel to move to the generator turbine.

“Thú chơi” nghìn tỷ

Mới đây, chúng tôi lại có dịp gặp doanh nhân Nguyễn Tăng Cường tại Quảng Ninh. Sau câu chuyện, chúng tôi mới biết hóa ra ông còn có nhà máy rất hoành tráng tại Uông Bí. Ông Cường vui vẻ cho biết: Bạn bè vẫn thường bảo tôi “đi mây về gió”, buổi sáng còn ở Ninh Bình, trưa đã thấy ở Hải Phòng, rồi Quảng Ninh… Chỉ riêng nhà máy ở Uông Bí, tôi đã đầu tư vào đây 6.500 tỷ đồng.

Dẫn chúng tôi đến thăm một nhà xưởng khi nhiệt độ ngoài trời lên tới gần 40 độ C, tôi cứ hình dung trong đầu nhà xưởng chắc ồn ào, ngột ngạt khó thở lắm. Vậy mà khi bước chân vào xưởng, chúng tôi vô cùng ngạc nhiên trước hệ thống máy móc sắp đặt gọn gàng, hơi lạnh từ máy điều hòa phả ra mát rượi. Tận mắt chứng kiến những nữ công nhân dùng máy gọt sắt mà nhẹ nhàng như… thái chuối, chỉ việc bấm vài nút điều khiển là phôi thép biến thành sản phẩm như mong muốn trong tích tắc…, tôi nghĩ, trình độ ngành cơ khí của Việt Nam đã và đang sánh ngang với nhiều quốc gia tiên tiến trên thế giới.  

Ông Cường cho biết, nhằm nâng cao hiệu quả sản xuất, giúp công nhân giải phóng sức lao động, Xí nghiệp đã chi nhiều triệu đô la nhập khẩu thiết bị máy móc tối tân nhất từ Đức, Nhật… Chỉ vào cỗ máy lừng lững, chiếm diện tích cả trăm mét vuông trước mặt chúng tôi, ông Cường nói chỉ cần đưa chiếc xe tăng chạy qua, cỗ máy sẽ tự sao chụp và tự động cắt gọt ra một chiếc xe tăng tương tự. Máy có tính năng vừa chụp cắt lớp, vừa chụp 3D, sẽ sao chụp từng chi tiết từ ngoài vào trong cỗ xe tăng.

Tới khu nhà xưởng thứ hai, ông Cường giới thiệu về Nhà máy phát điện bằng năng lượng sóng biển với mức đầu tư gần 1 nghìn tỷ đồng. Để chế tạo dây chuyền hoạt động cho nhà máy này, hàng trăm công nhân đã miệt mài làm việc gần 5 năm trời. Khi hỏi đơn vị nào đặt hàng sản phẩm này, ông Cường cười nói: “Đây là công trình do tôi đầu tư, chỉ để cho thỏa mãn trí sáng tạo mà thôi”.  Nhà máy phát điện hoạt động theo nguyên lý của chiếc guồng nước. Khi sóng biển tác động vào các lá quạt sẽ khiến chiếc guồng quay dẫn động đến tua bin phát điện.
