The investment of Hai Ha industrial - port zone was approved by the Prime Minister in Note No.: 141/TTr-CN on 23/01/2008. In Decision No. 34/2009/QD-TTg on 02/03/2009 on Planning and developing coastal industrial belt of Tonkin Gulf by 2020.
Quang Trung Group has joined constructing Hai Ha water-deep port in Hon Mieu – Quang Ninh, specifically the multi-functional water-deep area in Hon Mieu and Cai Chien island of Hai Ha seaport in categories of lifting products and multi-functional floating dock.
An overview of Hai Ha seaport (Hon Mieu, Quang Ninh)
As a unit with strong financial capacity and considering itself having enough conditions in seaport investment – especially in transshipment water-deep seaport – since 2009, Quang Trung Industrial Group has organized many workshops to report with the Quang Ninh province People’s Committee, Departments and Divisions and apply for the investment of multi-functional water-deep seaport in Hon Mieu and Cai Chien islands of Hai Ha district. In 2012, the Group continuously organized many practical researches and studies about the investment conditions in construction location and realized that this place had natural conditions in conformity with technical criteria to explore floating dock; and at the same time, it was potential for developing into a modern water-deep seaport system. It is through particular investment potential researching and studying along with the approval and support from the Government, Ministries, Department and Quang Ninh province People’s Committee that strengthened the determination and belief of implementing the project of unit.
When participating in the construction of Hai Ha water-deep seaport, specifically multi-functional water-deep seaport in Hon Mieu and Cai Chien islands of Hai Ha seaport, Quang Trung Mechanical Enterprise can not only create an output for its lifting products and but it also create employment for Enterprise’s labour. Moreover, multi-functional water-deep seaport is a National-level Project that is directly researched and machined by Quang Trung Mechanical Enterprise, so the Enterprise need a pilot place for its project to be installed and operated. If successful, the model can be applied in many other areas nationwide.

On the other hand, even ships with loading capacity of 30,000DWT can access the water-deep seaport in Cai Chien island, which will make Cai Chien water-deep seaport to be a seaward open gate that directly receives large-sized ships arriving Hai Ha Industrial Zone. In stage 2020, it will help attract and stimulate the implementation of infrastructure projects in and out of Hai Ha Industrial Zone. Simultaneously, it will contribute to the general development of Quang Ninh province in particular and of Northeast area in general.
